TICKETS $30 - ALL AGES "If this band appeared in New York City, they'd be a sensation!" That was guitar great--and one-time Mel Brown bandmate--George Benson's reaction after hearing the Mel Brown B-3 Organ Group open for him back in September, 2003 at Oregon's prestigious Britt Festival. In fact, this true all-star band--each member is widely viewed as tops in the Northwest on his instrument--has been a sensation for a long while now. With a collective resume that reads like a "Who's Who" of jazz, blues, and soul (all four members are Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductees), this group has the talent and confidence to be completely spontaneous--from their blistering solos to their improvised arrangements and segues. No wonder they've thrilled audiences wherever they've played.

TICKETS $25 | ALL AGES Upon Christopher Brown’s return to Portland in 2012—which was preceded by 13 years in the NYC area, as well as four years in the Marine Corps—the assemblage of his quartet quickly became one of note. And by 2017, his quartet had officially become the most visible Jazz group in all of Portland, with a steady weekly cadence of 3-4 performances, which was maintained until the start of the global pandemic. And even then, it took them no more than three months to return to a similar weekly performance schedule. Since 2017, the quartet has created a home for themselves at the famed 1905 Jazz club in Portland. And through their regular performances, they’ve not only helped to raise the profile of the venue to one of the world’s top 100 Jazz clubs according to Down Beat Magazine, but of Jazz itself in Portland. So in a market where it's difficult to maintain group's with the same personnel, it's arguable that the Christopher Brown Quartet succeeds as being one of (if not the best) Jazz "group" in all of Portland, which in turn gives them such a powerful, polished, and identifiable sound.

$25 TICKETS | ALL AGESSocial Music: Noah Simpson - Trumpet Leon Cotter - Tenor Matt Sazima - Piano Garrett Baxter - Bass Alan Jones - Drums, Composer Social Music is built on a simple truth: we’re all in it together. The band doesn’t just play at people—they play with them. Every show is a conversation, a risk, a leap. The musicians listen as much as they lead, and the audience? They help steer the whole damn ship. At the center of it all is drummer and composer Alan Jones, joined by four of Portland’s most electrifying young players: Noah Simpson on trumpet, Leon Cotter on tenor sax, Matt Sazima on piano, and Garrett Baxter on bass. These aren’t hired hands—they’re fearless collaborators, in it for the feeling, the surprise, the realness of the moment. Alan says it best: “Musicians can’t do it without the listener, and the listener’s got nothing to listen to without the music. In a live performance, we work together—what the audience brings has a huge influence on what the musicians deliver. When we play, every listener knows they’re part of the creation.” The band just spent a long weekend in the studio putting down all original compositions, never before recorded, but tested and stretched over countless live shows. These are pieces the band knows deep in their bones. The melodies and forms are so ingrained that they can approach them like standards—free to explore, improvise, and take chances. That’s what you’ll hear tonight.

TICKETS $25 - ALL AGES WELCOME Mike Prigodich is a trailblazing jazz fusion pianist, composer, and bandleader whose music defies genre boundaries and embraces complexity with unflinching clarity. Based in Oregon, Prigodich draws inspiration from artists like Chick Corea, Dave Grusin, Yellowjackets, and others, but his sound is unmistakably his own—melding jazz with Latin, rock, and global influences to create emotionally rich, rhythmically daring compositions. Prigodich made his mark with the release of his acclaimed 2011 debut album, A Stitch in Time, featuring an all-star lineup including Damian Erskine, Reinhardt Melz, and John Nastos. Funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign following a life-altering cancer diagnosis in 2008, the album was both a personal and artistic milestone. His story—of transformation through adversity—has become part of the music’s emotional DNA. In 2025, Prigodich returned with Stage Magic, a stunning live album recorded at Classic Pianos in Portland. Capturing the unfiltered energy and synergy of his ensemble, the album showcases Prigodich’s signature compositional style: odd time signatures, intricate harmonies, and melodies that are as memorable as they are complex. Stage Magic is a masterclass in 21st-century jazz fusion – “a sonic journey brimming with inventive melodies, rhythmic complexity, and a deep sense of play.” (Jazz Chill Music) His work has earned high praise from jazz luminaries. Chick Corea called his music “wonderful, beautiful, really great,” and George Whitty (Brecker Brothers) described his debut album as “one of those discs you want to hear again as soon as it’s finished.” At once cerebral and soulful, Mike Prigodich’s music offers more than virtuosity—it offers vision. As a composer and performer, he continues to shape the future of jazz fusion with fearless creativity, technical brilliance, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.

TICKETS $15 | 21+ PLEASE In this unprecedented concert, Portland rapper Wynne is joining forces with some of the city's most talented musicians to perform six shows across town at the end of September. Backed by Greaterkind, one of Portland’s premier jazz bands, Wynne will perform innovative musical arrangements of fan-favorites from her catalog. Soaking up influence from the greats of generations past (Jay-Z, Dilla, Foxy Brown, and the list goes on), as well as modern paragons like SZA and Drake, Wynne became a phenom by the age of 19, going viral several times and blowing the internet away with her veteran-level rapping. At 21 years old Wynne graduated college after four years of studying music and social justice, and released her debut mixtape “If I May..,” boasting assists from several A-list producers such as Hit-Boy, DJ Dahi, and Sounwave, as well as features from J.I.D, Mahalia, and fellow hometown hero, Damian Lillard. This took her on a sold-out tour with Earthgang and Mick Jenkins at the top of 2020. Dockin' Yachts, is a Portland all-star Yacht Rock Revue band, featuring Glen Hoover (guitar and vocals), Kirk Kalbfleisch (drums), Sam Arnold (bass), Sam Stewart (guitar), Alex Milsted (keys). The band was formed out of a genuine love for the iconic sound of this music, with its incredible song writing and studio musicianship that we all grew up admiring. You can expect to hear all the smooth rock hits from the mid 70's to early 80's from artists such as Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Hall and Oates, Christopher Cross, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins, etc. The band is fantastic and plays the mess out of this catalog!
