Saxophone/clarinet player Leon Cotter has led a varied musical life, spending much of the last decade touring the country with soul/blues band The California Honeydrops, while maintaining a reputation as a sought-after sideman and bandleader in Portland’s local jazz scene. He's excited to celebrate a lifelong love of folk and traditional music with this set of songs, with influences ranging from South African Jazz, Congolese rhumba, and Romani bellydance music, just to name a few. * The 12th Annual Montavilla Jazz Festival (MJF), presented by Accelerator Design Studios, takes place August 29–31, 2025, with a village-style celebration of Portland’s boundary-pushing jazz scene. Featuring 26 concerts across five venues, MJF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—ticket sales directly support jazz education and community programs in Montavilla and beyond.
