$25 TICKETS | ALL AGES Bobby Torres is a band leader, musician, record producer, songwriter, and session musician with a 40-year professional history that spans the globe. Originally from New York City, Bobby developed his reputation while performing with Joe Cocker and The Grease Band at Woodstock, touring with Joe Cocker Mad Dogs & Englishmen, and performing and/or touring or recording with countless other music stars such as Al Jarreau, Jackson Browne, Beach Boys, the Captain & Tennille, and Etta James – to name a few. He also performed and toured the globe for 10 years with Tom Jones. He has an extensive discography. A versatile musician, Bobby was nominated for Outstanding Percussionist (a Muddy Waters award); featured on Oregon Art Beat; inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame; received Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Hero award; appeared in a photo in Time Magazine; selected to perform in an All Star Tribute honoring Archbishop Desmond Tutu; and performed with the remaining members of Mad Dogs AND the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the 2015 Lockin Festival in Virginia before a crowd of 25,000. In 2016 the Tedeschi Trucks Band joined the Ensemble on Stage at the Waterfront Blues Festival. Bobby has been a respected advocate, speaker, instructor and keeper of Latin rhythms on the Portland music scene. Bobby has several appearances in the 1971 film “Mad Dogs and Englishmen”. He is featured in the 2021 documentary "Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs and Englishmen”. This documentary is the story of Joe Cocker's historic "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour as told through the lens of the Tedeschi Trucks Band's reunion of the Mad Dogs.
