Over the last 30 years, George Colligan has developed an international reputation as a virtuoso jazz pianist and innovative composer. Although much of Colligan‘s career has been as an extremely in demand collaborator (having spent years performing with jazz legends such as Jack DeJohnette, Buster Williams, Ravi Coltrane,Cassandra Wilson to name a few), here he will lead a trio and perform his own compositions and also throw in some standards. Known in Portland as a professor at Portland State University, part of his educational mission is to help cultivate the careers of his students and former students. Featured in this trio are bassist Robert Rodriguez and drummer Micah Hummel. Colligan is a mainstay at the 1905 and you won’t want to miss this exciting performance.
