He’s worked with countless Grammy Winning artists, jazz masters, rock stars, blues icons, soul legends, as well as the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus. Notably, he has worked with Grammy Winning artists: B.B. King, The Pointer Sisters, Steve Miller, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Bobby Rush, Chubby Carrier and The Portland Symphony Orchestra. He has toured internationally with Curtis Salgado, John Nemeth, Kara Granger, Karen Lovely, Earl Thomas and United by Music North America. He has released several albums as a band leader – and countless albums as a producer, sideman and band member. In demand as a producer, composer, songwriter, orchestrater, arranger, music director, side man and educator, Fleschner’s music displays a deep understanding of American roots music. Dave, Dan and Charlie have been making music together off and on for decades. This trio begins with the vehicles for improvisation – a range of original tunes from Dave’s catalogue, as well as a variety of jazz classics. Well versed in the old school organ trio tradition of Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Groove Holmes and Don Padderson, the Dave Fleschner trio has a modern approach to this canon, drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Herbie Hancock and Ornette Coleman.
